Meet Bryan R Welsh, 

 

a visionary nonprofit leader and board member with a wealth of experience in the information services and healthcare industries. He is passionate about innovation management, business strategy, and operational economics, and has an impressive track record of delivering process improvements that align with the strategic and operational objectives of the organizations he serves. He has held various leadership positions, including Director of Application Services at Hunterdon Health where he spearheads the development, implementation, and maintenance of the application portfolio for the enterprise.

Bryan is also an advocate for social equity, community development, and creating a world where everyone feels important, heard, safe, and has a purpose. He is actively involved in volunteer work, serving as a Board Member for the NJ Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a Board Member for Hunterdon County, NJ's Mental Health Board, a Board Member and Past-
President for the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (NJHIMSS), and a council member for Temple University's Graduate Alumni Professional Development Council.

With a Master of Science in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship with a concentration in Innovation Strategy from Temple University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and Economics from Fort Hays State University, Bryan is a highly qualified professional with a wealth of certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP), Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP), and more.

DIRECTOR, APPLICATION SERVICES & DATA ARCHITECTURE

  • Leads and mentors four managerial-level direct reports and oversees and provides coaching to a team comprising 32 professionals and consultants, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the overall data architecture strategy and a portfolio of over 200 enterprise-level applications

  • Manages an operating budget exceeding $10 million and partners with fellow executives to oversee a capital budget exceeding $7 million for the Information Services department

  • Formulates and directs both long-term and short-term strategic and operational initiatives aimed at fostering innovation throughout the organization.  This includes the evaluation, negotiation, and management of vendor proposals, master service agreements, maintenance contracts, scope of work documents, and business associate agreements

  • Oversees the execution of high-impact projects, including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Enterprise Imaging platforms, among others, aimed at achieving application consolidation, improved operational efficiencies, and a reduction in overall operating expenses

  • Serves as the executive sponsor for the Information Services’ Change Management Advisory Board and Project Review Board as well as a member of the organization's Innovation Committee

MANAGER, INFORMATION SYSTEMS

  • Led a cross-functional team of 17 direct reports and four indirect reports, overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of more than 80 information systems and applications

  • Spearheaded the identification of both short-term and long-term organizational needs, crafting strategic proposals, and establishing operational programs, policies, and procedures in collaboration with multiple business units

  • Developed system architecture and workflow designs for business acquisitions, mergers, and joint ventures

  • Assessed capital and operational budget requirements while assisting senior leadership in managing the multimillion-dollar software budget for the information services department

  • Initiated and managed advanced-level system/application projects, including cloud-based platforms and enterprise software solutions, adhering to Project Management Institute (PMI) methodologies

AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.

  • Leads the Bold Goal initiative within the Chapter, concentrating on the healthcare pillar. Developed the Healthcare Outreach Strategy Guide for the Chapter and established hospital partnerships, resulting in an 86 percent increase in suicide prevention provider training

  • Advocates for mental health and suicide prevention public policy at the state and federal levels by engaging in meetings with governmental leaders

  • Serves as the co-chair of the Mercer County Out of the Darkness Walk Committee, securing diverse fundraising sources and coordinating activities on the day of the walk

  • Promotes organizational and Chapter initiatives, elevating awareness through impactful presentations and active participation in community tabling events
