Meet Bryan R Welsh

 

a transformational nonprofit leader and board member with a wealth of experience in the information services and healthcare industries. He is passionate about innovation management, business strategy, and operational economics. He has an impressive track record of delivering process improvements that align with the strategic and operational objectives of the organizations he serves. He has held various leadership positions where he led organizational change and spearheaded the development, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise's application and data architecture portfolio.

Bryan is also an advocate for social equity, community development, and creating a world where everyone feels important, heard, safe, and has a purpose. He is actively involved in volunteer work, serving as the Treasurer and Board Member for the NJ Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the Chair of Hunterdon County, NJ's Mental Health Board,  Past-President for the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (NJHIMSS), and former council member for Temple University's Graduate Alumni Professional Development Council.


With a Master of Science in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship with a concentration in Innovation Strategy from Temple University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and Economics from Fort Hays State University, Bryan is a highly qualified professional with a wealth of certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP), Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP), and more.

ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR, TRANSFORMATION​

  • ​Inspires and mentors a team of seven managerial-level leaders and oversees a dynamic group of professionals and consultants, driving the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide initiatives, applications, and data architecture

  • Champions the execution of transformational, high-impact projects, including the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR), Infor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), UKG Pro Human Capital Management (HCM), multiple Enterprise Imaging platforms, and third-party system integrations streamlining operations, consolidating applications, and reducing operating costs

  • Strategically formulates and directs both long-term and short-term initiatives to drive innovation and operational excellence, including negotiating and managing vendor contracts, master service agreements, consulting scopes of work, and compliance documentation

  • Oversees operating and capital budgets exceeding $10 million, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic resource allocation to support organizational objectives

  • Represents Information Services at the executive level as a sponsor for the Innovation Committee, Office of Transformation, Change Management Advisory Board, and key steering committees, championing transformative change

  • Led and mentored four managerial-level direct reports, two project managers, and oversaw and provided coaching to a team comprising 33 professionals and consultants, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the overall data architecture strategy and a portfolio of over 200 enterprise-level applications

  • Managed an operating budget of $10 million and partnered with fellow executives to oversee a capital budget of $7 million for the Information Services department

  • Formulated and directed long-term and short-term strategic and operational initiatives to foster innovation throughout the organization.  This includes the evaluation, negotiation, and management of vendor proposals, master service agreements, maintenance contracts, scope of work documents, and business associate agreements

  • Oversaw the execution of high-impact projects, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Enterprise Imaging platforms, among others, aimed at achieving application consolidation, improved operational efficiencies, and a reduction in overall operating expenses

  • Served as the executive sponsor for the Information Services’ Change Management Advisory Board and Project Review Board as well as a member of the organization's Innovation Committee

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.

  • Leads strategic initiatives within the Chapter focusing on healthcare and corrections. Developed the Healthcare Outreach Strategy Guide for the Chapter and established hospital partnerships, resulting in an 86 percent increase in suicide prevention provider training

  • ​Serves as the Chapter’s Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer overseeing financial strategy, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring fiscal responsibility, compliance, and alignment with mission-driven objectives

  • Advocates for mental health and suicide prevention public policy at the state and federal levels by engaging in meetings with governmental leaders

  • Serves as the co-chair of the Mercer County Out of the Darkness Walk Committee, securing diverse fundraising sources and coordinating activities on the day of the walk
